White House Correspondents Dinner Video Features C7 Corvette!
A Velocity Yellow 2014 Corvette was featured in a video/skit that was played at the White House Correspondents Dinner. In the skit, the car was driven around Washington DC by Vice President Joe Biden.

All political thoughts aside, I thought it was pretty good that the VP of the US used a new C7 in the skit. It can't hurt that the VP likes Corvettes. I wonder if he keeps a C7 in the garage?

Jedi, I think the VP has (or had) several Corvettes. The video was amusing. I happen to like Julia Louise Dreyfus. Haven't seen that cable show though. I think it's called VEEP.

The Corvette they used was borrowed from a Poster at Corvette Forum.

I know that he has had a 1967 Vette since 1968 but do not know how many others he has or has had in the past.

That's interesting, I was wondering whether or not he actually owned it. I guess it would be kind of pointless since he wouldn't even be able to drive it.

Oh come on, give the guy a break. I expect to have a smug smile when driving my C7. I also expect all of us to sport smug grins when behind the wheel of our C7s. Guy + C7 = Smug.

Where was the technical consultant when this was recorded? At 6:36, Biden presses the "menu" button and the music starts playing. In my car, the "mute" button does it, but not the "menu" button. Am I being too critical?

I was very amused when I saw it. VP Biden has always been a big car guy, so it totally fit the persona! Of course he had his signature Ray-Bans on, too!
Some people even jokingly suggest that he won't run in 2016 just because of the fact that when you hold the office of President or VP you really can't drive yourself except in very special circumstances (which was part of the gag in the video that he was driving around the White House property but couldn't leave). Funny stuff! |
