This should look amazing once it's done. It currently has CF vinyl, Im going to re do it in real carbon fiber. Cant wait to see the finished results

Also if anyone is wondering, here is a comparison between the CF vinyl and real CF. This is using that same scrap piece I was testing the clear coat on, it has not been wet sanded or polished yet

Here is a piece stuck over the real stuff

how many layers of cf are you doing and roughly how many layers of resin? also do you lay a layer of the resin down first to get the part tacky then lay your cf down?

Depends on the part and the base color of the part. As far as resin, it also depends, I tend to sand the part down, if more resin is needed I add more, its never a set number layers. The red CF does tend to need 1-2 more layers then the black CF tends to need though, I have noticed that.

Few outside pics of the mirrors, they have 2 layers of clear coat. They still need a few more layers before they are done. Once done I will wet sand them and polish them up.

These are outdoor pics, it was cloudy outside when I went out.

Can I just mail you every part of my camaro in pieces so you can CF it all. I tried to do my interior pieces with the same red and black you used and I botched the clear coat and ruined them ;(. If you ever want to experiment on anything I'll offer up my car as tribute! And cash of course!

Oh snap! I'm actually not far from you at all. I was just in Kyle last weekend. So I guess I wouldnt even need to mail the pieces! What type of clear do you use? I listened to a local carshop and used a certain kind from a can and it just didn't work out for me, at all.

I use enamel clear coat for the exterior pieces, glossier and harder once cured. And with clear coat its all in the application. overspray from other projects or other area of the piece can ruin specific section. This is why i go back and sand it down with 1500, then buff it out with polishing compound. Restores the shine
