That is the one minor issue with my 2017 Jenny6 ss the window fogs up oh and that the sound of the horn on these cars is weaker than an asthmatic senior citizen WITH COPD trying to blow through a straw .

I really enjoy this car and I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

I bought the car used last August. The car was locally owned. Most of the miles were put on driving between Las Vegas and Creech AFB. He only owned the car for 9 months. And I use the same dealership from which the car was originally purchased.

Based on the service records the dealership service advisor shared with me, the previous owner did not have any issues. However, I have had a few issues, all covered under warranty. The most significant was the rear window seal failing.

Almost every car model has some issues, some more than others. I had a GT500 several years ago and those cars certainly had issues, but, it was still a lot of fun. The Gen6 Camaro issues I read about on this forum would not prevent me from buying one.

Just like the GT500, my Camaro is not a daily driver. My car spends most of it's time in the garage hooked up to a Battery Tender.

I have heard enough about the A8 shudder, not only on Camaro but across GM product line, that I will not buy a Camaro with this transmission.

Waiting for the A10.

If i could buy another car, I would get the 1LE. I've had two or three minor issues, but nothing major. Car is pretty much stock, but still faster then most cars.

Very true. So I'll post. I have had no issue whatsoever with my 2016.

There is that windshield fogging thing but I do not consider it to be an issue since I've owned cars in the past that did it--there's a flap back there without a perfect seal.

Sorry. I cannot recommend getting a 2016. This car has been a nightmare to own. Everything from the constant exhaust rattle that has no real fix to the terrible transmission problems and everything in between. It's a real shame cause this car is quite the performer but living with it on a daily basis is getting tiresome. I have more hope for the 2019 model year.

If you were to buy a 2016, bring a checklist and check for:
Exhaust rattle while in stealth/tour mode
Transmission shudder while switching between v8/v4 mode
Harsh and clunky shifts
Rear differential groan
Warped rotors when stopping from highway speeds
Windshield fogging
Front-end clunk when turning at parking lot speeds

There may be more but thats what I have experienced in my car. Best of luck!

I dont believe the 17 is any better for that matter. My in-law has all those same issues and a few more. His is getting ready to go down the road.

If I knew then what I know now, I'd probably have opted for a 2018 1LE.

My very late model 2016 (build June 2016) convertible has the following:
  • NPP rattle since 300 miles - pulled fuse myself
  • V4 vibration at low rpm and AFM exhaust valve clank
  • Rear end groan, changed the fluid myself per TSB, once at 3300 miles never went away completely at 5000 miles. Will change again.
  • Passenger window hits convertible top when opening door.
  • Odd misfire that occurs on start up in very warm weather (disappears when warmed up)
  • Clunky shifting at low speeds, holds lower gears way too long under light acceleration.
  • Clicking wheels when making tight turns (wheels need to be re-torqued or mating surfaces cleaned)
  • Clear coat overspray on windshield. (cleaned myself)
  • Creaking convertible top when operating above 75F
  • HVAC system possessed by demons when top gets closed from open position. Erratic operation...
  • Wind infiltration / noise with top up over 50MPH.
  • Misc rattles since day 1 on cool days
  • Metal on metal clunk from right rear when hitting abrupt bumps
  • Thump from HVAC system when changing modes
  • Windshield fogging under high humidity conditions with top up and ac on.
I will say that I've yet to bring the car in for warranty service, for any issue. So, that's on me.. I fully expect that most, if not all issues will be addressed (at my dealer)

I do love my car (but it could be better). I'm still mostly happy with my purchase. With the top down and the engine warmed up, it's truly a special car.

I got the Rs package with almost no options because the more electronics and goodies the more things to go bad lol

Example:

basic door sill = No Camaro logo peeling

20" silver 5 spoke wheels = No fading or peeling like the black wheels (yet)

No NPP = No NPP problems

No heated seats = Never liked/used the cooled or heated seats in my other vehicle

Have not had any transmission/rear end problems yet, but it might be because the V6 puts out less power and thus prolonging my A8 (wishful thinking) lol!

Honestly with my budget it was between the V8 coupe or the V6 Convertible. I went with the Convertible and only problem has been the remote not always responding and some strange noises that I believe are caused by the convertible top but man is this a beautiful and fun car

I have a '17 1SS with 12k miles. No issues. No problems.

Went with a 1SS because I use Apple Carplay for navigation. Heated seats aren't needed in the south. I'm going with coilovers and full headerback exhaust anyways so magnetic ride and NPP weren't that important to me.

26k on my 16 1SS M6 DD, still love it. Only problem recently was red Camaro letters paint on engine covers started to come off. Has anyone else had this happen?
