It still irks me how Cadillac CT4 and CT5 are horrible selling sacred cows that stay in production over Camaro. Camaro sales are more than those two combined yet its Camaro we are always told is the poor seller that needs to get the axe.

I don't buy the "it's poor sales" rationale. It doesn't apply looking at the numbers of Camaro (and Bolt for that matter) compared to others.

Imagine what Camaro numbers would have been if all the orders were actually built to meet demand. I haven't heard of any unhappy CT4 or CT5 customers unable to get the cars they want built.

Oh well....We can use the worsening strike now to speculate on what the future holds...

Wait, so you’re telling me Mary’s EV pipe dream isn’t driving the new growth? It’s the same old bread and butter of trucks and large suvs that GM has been making a killing at for a long long time. Huh whoda thought that could be the case. GM and the auto industry as a whole has become such a f#cking joke.

Its my opinion that management needs a new direction aimed at car enthusiasts and its products. It is a no brainer that the full sized trucks and SUVs are floating the company, so it would be suicide to change or eliminate them.

Not that EVs or the development of the technology is bad. GM and other companies need to further the development of more than one alternative energy source. However, to act as if one is placing all of their eggs in the "EV" basket is a bit foolhearty. EVs have a great advantage in their efficiency and somewhat of a relief from consuming fossil fuels (its production, however, bastardizes this notion). Overall ease of use and reliability is still behind the modern ICE cars and trucks.

I think the whole game now is smaller production of high margin vehicles.

If you look Caddy sales in China, CT4 and CT5 are great in there. GM sold both Caddy sedan most in there.

That's great news. I didn't know GM was exporting large numbers of CT4 and CT5s from Michigan to China.

Most of the Cadillacs sold in China are made there. It supposedly dilutes development costs for the ATS/CTS/CT4&5, but not the same platform Camaro. That's corporate accounting for ya. Agreed with the irking.

Suicide is the government’s goal and GMs leadership has proven to be willing to do whatever they say unfortunately.
