Can I leave the spring spacers on?

I bought my ZL1 with 1800 miles on it. It was delivered to me and I noticed it had the same height as the SS. I just checked and found the spring spacers are still on. I like the height it has now. Can I leave them on and take them of for "track days" or is leaving them on going to damage the suspension?

They must be removed. As per the owners manual they are to be stored in the glove compartment for future use in case you need to be towed. The dealer should have done that at the time of receiving your car and inspecting it.

No I'm not kidding. I know the manual says they should be removed but it doesn't say what can happen if I don't. That's what I'm asking here.

Why are you more concerned about "looks" regarding height than damaging your suspension? Two different cars regarding suspension.

Leave them on.. Do whatever u want with ur car... But per GM they must come out. Don't believe us, leave them in and tell us what happens.

I don't think you actually damage anything by leaving them in, but it will have the profound effect of negating 90% of the front suspensions capabilities, making the car ride stiffer than normal.

I would suggest that you remove the spacers, drive the car for awhile to get the full feel of the awesome suspension these cars have, THEN decide for yourself whether it worth leaving them in just to get it to ride just s bit higher.

pay attention towards the end of the first post with the items highlighted in red.

Finally, an educated answer. Thank you.
