bigger valve or just a stronger spring? MagnunForce isn't that what you did?

Boost pressure from the intake manifold combined with the spring pressure keeps it closed. |

Mine never flutters at 12 psi of boost and I run the IPF valve and spring. Don't waste your money, just get the orientation correct.

Magnum. now that you mentioned it, mine is facing away, why does the orientation cause the flutter

Today or tomorrow I will take my bypass valve off and take it apart, take pictures of it and show how to clean/grease it. If you take yours off it should require force to open up but should close perfectly, sealing the piston. If it gets stuck on one side it could let air through that small gap and force the piston open. This is the thread I was talking about with the springs. It has a picture of our bypass valve taken apart. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=369920 |

Actually the pressure side pushing up on the piston in your configuration is more likely to cause flutter in the valve. Pressure on the side of the piston, in the IPF configuration, will not. In most conditions the orientation should not make a difference.

I am running the IPF position too, did not have good luck with the other position.

I have mine setup the same way Vortech and Procharger have theirs. It has handled 12 PSI, the only bad thing about the IPF valve is it will not bleed enough air off fast enough at higher boost. This isn't a problem unless it blows past the MAF. |

I'm in the process of cleaning my by-pass valve to make a DIY post and noticed something that some of you may want to know about fast. This is a picture of the inside of mine, you can see what accumulated inside before I switched to a different PCV system.

Soo, it seems like almost all of you have changed your PCV system, but my guys at Redline said it was fine as is... What am I missing.. I know the engine is ingesting oil, but GM says thats normal operation, and not to worry unless you are low before oil changes.
Can some one fill me in? |

The system as is vents fine, just no clean air drawn in through the motor. That is why most of us have changed it up. Plus we cant leave $h!t alone.....

Car is back from J&M and the HP tune. and it's absolutely great, a rundown on my situation, I had the IPF tune, Car only pulled to 6000, not 7000, and had a reading of 350 hp, I had no traction controll on my car, it was removed when arno did the tune. I had high manifold pressure and was finding oil on the eng. by the oil filler tube, I had a whistle at idle and removing the oil filler cap stopped that. I now have 2 catch cans, a mighty mouse on the dirty side to the manifold, and one on the clean side to the supercharger tube. I also have a vent hole on my oil filler cap. The first time I checked the 2 catch cans, I found oil and condensation in the MM catch can and just a little oil and condensation in the 2nd catch can. the 2nd time I checked the cans (3000) miles latter, I found a good amount of oil, no condensation in the MM and nothing in the 2nd catch can. I no longer have an oil problem, and dyno.d at 375hp and the Car just sounds great.
