Made a variant of Limoncello except used limes and 1800 tequila. Came out like a candy margarita.

Jefferson's Reserve. Another first timer; "Reserving" judgement at this point. It has a very different flavor than the bourbons that I usually buy.

Belle Meade.
First time trying it, but I believe it is a keeper. While I'm not sure how you can produce bourbon in Tennessee, it is labeled as bourbon, not Tennessee whiskey. |

Tennessee whiskey is a bourbon that has had the extra step of being charcoal filtered before bottling. It is this extra process that makes it a "Tennessee whiskey". Belle Mead is I believe still a non-distiller producer as they do not actually make whiskey at all. Just a brand name for a generic whiskey produced by a third party at the giant MGP distillation facility in Indiana. MGP is a contract distillery that supplies MANY of the non-distiller producers. |
