Long Term Review of Short Shifter Sticks, not the whole shifter?

Guys I'm looking for a little feedback on the long term reviews for the stick only replacement. I had the factory Hurst in 12' and now have a stock one in my new 15. I F'n hate it. I did ALOT of reading and searching and although I know the mgw is the preferred complete replacement, I'm still looking at the usual suspects of Barton, LSR, SLP, Hurst and PFYC. My main concern in the cheap plastic inserts that are breaking/wearing down under heavy shifting after a short period of time. I know hurst offers an upgraded brass kit, but are they the only one? Just wondering if people with the others are happy 2-3 years later and that it's still holding up years later, if not, what has been done to remedy this? Thanks.
