I'm a fan of the GMC trucks. I'm hoping they do a good job with the 3rd gen Colorado/Canyon mid size trucks. If so, I think I'll be in a 3rd gen Canyon eventually.
But as of now, I think the current Canyons can look pretty good. Speaking of black...

I love in Columbia. Other than the the occasional ice storm every 5 years there's no real need to have a winter beater. Allseason are more than adequate.
Having said that the GMCs look much better than the Silverado currently. Hopefully that's fixed in 2023. |

I still prefer the GMC to the Chevrolet. Why can’t GMC get a Bison version?
I didn’t need a winter beater in Charleston. Living outside Philadelphia is another story. |

I have a Colorado as my daily driver....I like it a lot. I am kind of old school....ok I'm OLD! LOL and believe it or not....the size of the current Co;orado/Canyon's is pretty close to the FULL sized 1/2 ton trucks of the mid to late 70's early 80's. Just looked it up....the 2020 Colorado is actually 10" LONGER than a 1976 Chevy Silverado....AND the 2020 Chevy Colorado is 10" WIDER than the 1976 Silverado as well! so the current FULL sized trucks are that much bigger.....and the current MID-SIZED trucks are about the same size as the OLD full sized trucks.

The rumor is they are about to at least in the full size world. The AT4-X will come out after the Silverado ZR2 and will be the GMC clone. I doubt the Canyon will get a ZR2 equivalent until maybe after the 3rd gen comes out as a 2022 model.

Yeah Canyon appears to be getting an AT4-X or whatever GM decides to call the ZR2 equivalent with the new midsize trucks. Should be out next year.

Scotty Kilmer says the 2500 series is good, but the 1500 series is junk!

I have heard horror stories about the 8-speed in last generation. I wanted to buy the 2015 Denali my boss had but he would not let me with the problems he had. I also test drove a 2016 with only 20K miles and the tranny sounded clunky. The story was a new type of transmission fluid would help it but my boss said after 15-20k the problem returned. I also wanted the new tailgate so I got my SLT in 2020. My wife calls it my grandpa tailgate as a lot easier to get in. Got it with the 6.2 so over 400 horses so has some gittyup. Mine has the 10 speed and so far, so good, although only 19k miles on it. The SLT has more chrome which this old fart likes, at least on a truck. The Denali and AT4 have body colored bumpers. At least in 2020 the Denali had different suspension settings you could dial in for sport, offroad, whatever. The Denali also could have fold in running boards but sounds like those get iced up easy in Minnesota and stick. I think the other difference in the denali was a higher end interior and a LED gauge cluster. My SLT is the X31 package which is like the chevy z71, rancho shocks and skid plates. I believe the AT4 and elevation have a couple inch factory lift. Starting in 2020 I believe they came with the adaptive cruise. It slows down on its own when you get a certain distance from the car in front of you. Also will do some steering correction like if I go too far right onto the shoulder. I have tried it a couple times in stop and go and worked ok. If you come to a complete stop you have to press the cruise lever to start moving again but does follow traffic and stop when needed. I could live without it but use it since it came with it.
