L99 Cylinder 5 misfire problem, please help
Hi. I have an issue. When i drive 3-4 k rpm, CEL light came on for 5-6 second then disappear. The pending code was p0300 random misfire and p0305 cylinder 5 misfire. Replaced spark plug, spark plug wires. Nothing changed. And only first start in the morning, the engine die in 1-2 second after start. But second try it totaly normal. Normal drive is totaly normal. I have a cold air intake with new maf sensor, catless x pipe with long tube headers, custom engine and trans tune.

Have you tried swapping coils to see if the cylinder # changed?

I would check fuel pressure you might have a pump dying. Start then stall the fuel might be bleeding back when the car is off and not getting good prime on first start or low fuel pressure. If it is a random misfire that also leads me towards a fuel issue or vacuum leak

Here is my fuel pressure. It contains wide open throtthle. Max 450 kpa, min 366 kpa. In ignition on 546 kpa. Especially in cold weather like 0 C, car starting but immediatly die. I tried 2-3 times and it run. Last edited by imponte; 02-15-2020 at 05:38 AM. |

I have long tube headers. The o2 sensor can cause that issue? Maybe they are melting? Or heated issue?

I would suspect the maf sensor if you replaced it and the intake AFTER the car was tuned. The maf is extremely sensitive in these cars.

Today i bring the car to a local shop. Read dtc, i have a new code. P1153.. and p0300. P1153 is o2 sensor. Im gonna replace my o2 sensors before the cat. Maybe the all issue is that simple. I drove 50-60 miles and no issue. And of course i changed the coil 5 to 3. |
