I'll be doing the exact opposite. I have a brand new set of 1SS cloth seat cover fabric that I will be swapping my 2SS leather for. I bought the cloth several months ago, still haven't got around to doing the swap.

Never been a fan of leather, especially GM's version of "leather".

Glad I could help anyone out there! This operation takes some time, but not too hard and so worth it.

Thumbs up Leather Seat Install

I wish I saw this post before I changed out the cloth seats in my Camaro. Would have saved me some time. But I got my seats from www.leatherseats.com They had really good customer service and I can vouch for the product. The seats run anywhere from 699 - 1500. Be sure to get plenty hog rings and plenty rest the night prior because as mentioned earlier your hands WILL get tired.

Thanks so much for this write up. Definitely seems like an undertaking. buying the seat covers is a lot cheaper than buying replacement leather seats whole. I just hope I can achieve factory fit and finish. Any special concerns with the airbags?

3/4" hog rings. To do a complete seat swap it takes 118 rings FYI.

Maybe a trip to the upholster who has a steamer could iron out the wrinkles his pic shows along with the armor all or what ever coats some of the stuff, looks like he went cheaper with non perforated , I know I hate the little crap getting caught in mine.

Rent a wallpaper steamer. Once you remove the old covers steam the foam it will puff back to factory size therefore making your new leather fit much tighter. You can also steam the leather when putting it on to make it more pliable. Finally you can steam the seats when done to tighten it all back up. All and all the $25-$35 for a good steamer is worth it.
