Big build coming-416 with F1A-94
Hey all, I’ve been reading this forum for years, and finally decided to officially join the group.
I am just getting started on the biggest build on any car I’ve owned. The current setup is a BTR stage 2 cam, ported heads, ARH long tube, lower pulley, flex fuel and a rotofab. Car made 735 rwhp on a 50/50 blend of E85 through the A10. I daily drive the car, and put about 50k miles on this setup. Now it’s time to get a little crazy. Lol. We’re still finalizing the specs, but here’s the build: -416 stroker with a stage 3 cam (specs TBD) -F1A-94 -Circle D torque converter -DSX low side fuel -meth injection It’s going to be at least a few weeks, which leaves plenty of time to speculate. What are some guesses on what the car puts down?? Also, for big HP guys, what are you running for daily tires? I think I’ll get some wheels and sticky tires for weekend romps, and keep a “normal” street tire on it for my normal commute. |

Im sure youll be chasing that 1k hp level depending on how much meth you use.
I use et street Rs as my daily but I avoid the rain. The tread wears fast but I'm never in the position of "shit i wish i had my good tires on" Whos 416 kit are you using? Whos tuning it?

That feeling of not having the right tires on is spot on!
It’ll likely be a TSP setup for the 416, just working though some sources challenges at the moment. And it’ll probably be Lashway Tuning in Broward County...he’s tuned my last few cars, including the cam setup I’m running now. I already know I’ll have to sacrifice traction a bit for daily use. Here In South Florida, it rains too often, and too hard to cruise everyday on a tire that doesn’t do well in the rain. And when I say sacrifice traction, I’m essentially saying have no traction!! |

Sounds like a great build, looking forward to seeing your progress.
For a “daily” tire, R888R or NT555R (or R2) seem to be the choice for high power builds. Standard tires like the F1 Supercar 3’s are useless with anything over 30% throttle. Lol

50k miles on 735 rwhp heads/cam car is awesome. Engine still good and just upgrading to a 416? Looking forward to your build.

Thanks guys. Actually now that I think about it, it’s closer to 60k on the cam setup. Car currently has 72k on it...I do drive quite a bit. I had zero issues, until now I had a lifter collapse. I figured it’s time to do what I’ve been thinking about since I got the car, and build a monster.

Well it’s not good in the rain at all but the R888R would be the only tire I would use with high powered car. I still run a PS4S in the front to keep front tire traction good but for the rear R888R for sure.
I would go as big as you can. I’m running 325/30/20 on custom 20x11.5” wheel. If you are willing buy new wheels, consider a 19x12 so that you could go 345/30/19. Plenty of width right there. |

Thanks Markoz28, that’s a really good idea going with a 19” combo. That might be a good compromise to keep some level of traction all the time. I just watched a video of a C7 Z06 with this combo...dude is spinning through 100. This should be interesting!

Your hp limit will be fuel limited, so as asked before, your limit will be based upon how much meth you want to limit yourself to. If you are going to like an alkycontrol system, you will be maxed at around 900-950 rwhp

You’ll be between 900-1000whp. Just insane power at that point. I’m still getting use to 780whp and currently have no desire for more.

Alright guys, got a few things confirmed...here’s the list for the rotating assembly coming from Texas Speed:
Callies compstar crank Wiseco Coates forged pistons Callies ultra billet h beam rods TSP VVT 3 cam This should give me a really strong bottom end to deal with that F1A-94. I can’t wait to hear this thing! |
