If GM fixed the problem on 2017 A8 models how come I have the exact same problem on my 2018 2.0T 10 speed 6th Gen Camaro at only 2,000 miles ? Someone is a liar !

There were multiple revisions to the TSB and later years were included in the list. If you have a 2018 2.0 then you probably have the A8 and not the A10. You should be able to take your car to a dealership and get the latest flush procedure done under warranty.

The latest transmission fluid (Mobil 1 Synthetic LV ATF HP, part number 19417577, blue stripe on the bottle and not black) that actually fixes the problem came out in Jan 2019 as part of TSB 18-NA-355, so unless your A8 was flushed with this specific fluid, it can develop the shudder. The good news is that if you only have 2000 miles on your car, the flush will likely be sufficient. If a car is driven with the shudder too long, the friction material on torque converter clutches may be damaged and a new torque converter is also needed for a complete fix. Yes, this sucks, but at least there is a viable fix that solved the problem for many, many people in this forum. Whether or not this is perfect or there are exceptional cases when even this doesn't help, I don't know, but the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive here for years.

I’m conflicted.
I had the transmission flushed due to shudder on 11/04/2019 at 73,378 miles. Its now 01/10/2021 at 96,742 miles and the shudder is back. I first thought it was something else but it’s been a few days now and it’s back full force, almost everytime it goes into V4 mode I get that shaking and the car vibrates. I’m gonna try to go back to the dealership that did my transmission flush but I don’t think they’ll do another without payment. I paid $200 since my warranty was out, I’ve asked my tuner to disable AFM but the shudder coming back is just sad to me. I’d rather not have to expense $200-300 (depending on if they’re doing their ‘promotion’) every ~20k miles as I drive a lot imo. I did show them the TSB 18-NA-355 when I had it flushed back then, I even bought the fluid and filter myself first but thought to let the dealership handle it so it’ll be done properly.

The complete truth is probably as elusive as hairs trimmed off a unicorn's tail, I conjecture that every A8 will develop the shudder over time, but depending on the characteristics of the new fluid and the state of the converter when it's flushed, this may either be pushed out far enough to be beyond relevance (say, 250-300K miles), or the shudder may return much sooner. Happy to be corrected by someone who actually knows the intricacies of the A8.

![]() The bad news you probably already know, replacing the TC may not be something you feel like tackling in your garage, and you're out of warranty. That said, it should solve your shudder issue practically for good.

Has anybody replaced the converter with an after market product? If so which one?

2018 Transmission Shudder
Bought 2018 2SS a month ago with 18K miles. Noticed a shutter in transmission while driving at a steady speed like most have reportd. Got the transmission flush and it seemed to work well. Drove it for over 200 miles and shutter is coming back. Took to dealership and they said to drive it another 300 miles and also said they could not duplicate. I'm afraid the person that had it before me just lived with issue. Gonna drive it another 300 miles and then probably take it back. Seems they don't want to change the TCI.
