2017 Camaro Radio Gone Dead

I have a 2017 bose system with the 8 inch display (may not matter). I started my car tonight and the radio and screen were 100% dead and non responsive. After turning the car on and off and opening the door to reset things.... still dead. I later tapped the screen and it lit up with a bright yellow boarder and red center saying it was looking for an update. An hour later the station I was listening to came back on but without any controls and I was looking at the same screen with the bright yellow boarder and red center saying it is looking for an update. Not sure what is going on with this radio but it has no functional display or controls. There is a low level speaker hissing sound (almost sounds like a fan running on low). Screen is staying lit with the same bright yellow boarder and red center saying it is looking for an update. I'm going out of town this week and afraid when I get back from my trip the battery will be dead. Any suggestions or thoughts?

If it hasn’t self corrected by the time you get back, pull the neg battery lead and let it sit overnight. If that doesn’t fix it, take it to someone with an ultimate set of tools.

Did you try pressing and holding the power button inside the volume knob?

Pull the fuse for the display and for the radio. Plug back in then try.

Thanks for the ideas guys. It came back after about two hours. Was the weirdest thing I've seen. I've only had the car for 6 weeks and was like "what the hell."

That kind of stuff drives one nuts with a new car. We shouldn't have to spend tens of thousands of dollars to be R&D for these companies, but it seems be the norm across everything we buy these days. Glad it came back for you. I would still make your dealer aware.

I had something similar happen a few months back. Negative battery disconnect for a few minutes did the trick.

This has happened to me twice now, usually comes back after I let the car sit for a couple hours, it's pretty annoying.
