That's one of the stupidest suggestions I've heard since...ever.

If the vehicle meets or exceed required safety and regulatory standards for public roads, than there's no reason it should be treated differently. And that's the whole point of the Demon...a street legal drag car.

Who wrote the original editorial...a Prius driver tired of feeling inadequate?

I'm Concerned

The Demon has replaced people texting while driving as the #1 hazard on the road today.

It's NOT the amount of power that concerns me, it's the fact that it's being discussed by the media as a possible problem. ie a witch trial.

Worst case scenario is they get banned in New York. I can live with that.

Define media these days, Food Editors rating automobiles? It is really stupid considering there are at least 5 or 6 cars with more HP.

Just the fact that any of them are discussing it...It has not been discussed that way with other high-powered cars (since the early 70's) that I've seen/heard until now. Will this make insurance companies rethink insuring sports-cars??

Whoever wrote this is an idiot. Plain and simple. These cars these days pack lots of power. But the ECUs, tires, suspension, stability control features, etc all paly a role in making this vehicle completely safe to drive on the street. If this were 1988, then yea I could agree with the article. Even in the early 90s when the Viper first hit the streets and you were required to complete a training course before picking one up, even that I could agree with for that time period. But you would have to be a moron to not be able to control these cars. The way they word this article makes it sound like these cars are uncontrollable and that is not the case whatsoever.

Intentionally inflammatory articles are typically done for a few reasons... 1). To get publicity or 2)Pay Per Click ads / Pay Per Load ads.

The article's author may not even care one way or the other.. But, boy is it good in getting their click counts up.
