GM You Better Bring the 1LE Back in 2016!
With all the current accolades for the 1LE GM better not drop the ball by delaying the 6Gen 1LE till after 2016.
Stay on top GM by doing the right thing and produce a 6Gen 2016 1LE!

I would be surprised if they didn't. The Z51 was available at release. Why not the 1LE?

The 1LE is such an awesome camaro package; It gets my full respect. I'd love to see it again in the 6th generation. I have a feeling that the 6th gen will have its work cut out for it in matching the current 1LE.

The 1LE didn't come till after the ZL1, since it borrows some of the ZL1 parts. Im expecting the same for the 6 gen camaro. 2016 Camaro SS, 2018 ZL1 Camaro, 2019 Camaro SS + 1LE option.

I wouldn't if I was GM. Wait for the MY 17 to bring it back, or if they do bring it back it won't be til mid year of the MY run.

No 1LE for 16's, at least until late in the model year at best.
Since the 6th gen will be a different wheelbase and track its not as simple as just adding the same parts as the current 1LE package. There will be testing first and lots of it to make sure they get it right. The testing being done now is on the base, and SS models. The "ZL1" (if its still going to be called that) and Z28 are also in the earliest stages of testing and they have their hands full with them. I can't imagine Chevrolet not continuing the 1LE with all the success lately but if you look back at previous years it always came later.

I also believe we will have to wait a year or two before the 1LE is available again. I would actually prefer it this way since this will allow Chevrolet the time to test all of the go fast parts from the ZL1 or whatever form the higher performance models take that can then be used on the 1LE. I think this is the reason why the 1LE is such a great car. All of the expense of development is spread across several trim levels and makes it so that overall package is very affordable and you get parts that were designed for a higher performing vehicle. I also think this is why the Mustang GT PP has been such a disappointment for the Mustang guys. They are not borrowing parts from higher trim levels that have already tested to boost performance they are adding a few odds and ends to help but it is not really a well thought out package.
However I want the 2016 base SS to have the same or better performance than the 2013-2015 1LE, but I also realize that that level of performance may cause issues with too harsh of a ride that regular consumers would not accept. After all this whole enterprise is about selling cars from base models that cost $25k up to the $75k Z/28 and they have to design the platform in such a way as to please many different consumers. Its amazing to me that we have so many options to choose from in just one model and they were still able to get everything so right. Be patient, it will be worth it.

Bad marketing to bring it all at the same time, all makes roll out basic models, then convertibles, then performance, then refresh body work... This way a 2016 SS buyer will have remorse two years later when there are 3 other optioned models

So GM made a mistake by bringing out the Z51 in the first year of the Corvette line up? I think the sales and performance prove otherwise. Your arguments don't hold up. Why not bring the 1LE out immediately and put Ford and Dodge farther back on their heels and gain a BIG percent of the market?

They waited on the Z06, Z51 was options they had in the bag. Just my opinion, I think they focus on getting manufacturing and logistics chain of spare parts, iron out issues, improve and add to the scope of options. As the product matures, they add stuff like they did with 2014, to freshen up an aging platform, get some more sales out of an old platform (it worked). Porsche, BMW all of them, they start with a basic platform, then add drop tops, turbos, GT3's, M's etc...

I get that, I ordered one too.
It is NOT a separate model. |
