16 - 18 6th Gen owners, would you upgrade to a 19 - 23 like for like model?
I am curious on this.
Would you consider upgrading your 16 - 18 for a 19 - 23 either to: - Update the body style (admittedly the 20 - 23 body style has grown on my minus the tail lights.) - Upgrade to the A10 Anything else? |

**** no, A10 would be a downgrade. Plus, look at my front end, that's better than anything that came after.

Never!
The 16-18 cars hit the Camaro look perfectly. I’m an M6 owner, and I have no interest in switching to an auto either. That being said, I won’t knock any 6th gen regardless of style or equipment.

I like the pre-refresh better but when I was in the market it was either spend $30-40k for a 5+ year old car or $40k for a year or two old car with warranty so I got my warranty

Yes, if you love the car. The 10 speed auto is absolutely better than the previous 8 speed auto(assuming you have an auto)

I just bought my second 2016 m6 SS. Would I own a 19-24? Absolutely. Given the choice though, I choose 16-18. In my opinion, the front end is soooo much better looking.
I can't speak to the transmission. Couldn't imagine driving an auto. Here's the thing though, we all use our cars differently. It's almost funny actually. I've been very active in the 3rd Gen community since before the internet! On that forum, it's all guys with extra cars! Some race, some show, some cruise, but no one worries about software updates, warranties, mileage, etc. etc. No one is daily driving. 6th gen is obviously different, and that's fine of course! For me, my '16 is my second Camaro in the garage, and my 4th car. -so yeah, no auto! -and there's no need to upgrade to a newer model for miles, or software, warranty etc. etc., but I can certainly see how it might be appealing for someone who DD'd their car. |

The original design is almost perfect, I can only think of a few minor tweaks to make it better, and I don't care about the A10 with my properly tuned A8. The A10 is better, but not that much, and I love the bang WOT shifts that the A8 has more of. The ideal automatic trans would be a theoretical 9-speed that has an extra gear between the A8's fourth and fifth gear, with a proper tune (and paddle switches that activate on release instead of at the end of their travel ). GM lost a ZL1 sale with me originally because of no configurability, and they lost me completely with the 2019 refresh plus the disbanding of the entire Camaro engineering team. The lights were only kept on by the janitors for the last 5 years.

Body style: no
A10: no Anything else: - software no (could not care less) - and they got rid of HomeLink on the convertibles? (Why in the world would they have gone *out of their way* to do that?) So, rather the reverse.

So I made the upgrade in features by ordering a '21 3LT, but still managed to keep the better looks! |

Only if I could get a 24 Riptide Blue ZL1 6 speed for a reasonable price. In other words, I'm sticking with my 12,000 mile 2017 HyperBlue 2SS.

Only reason for me would be for a Wild Cherry ZL1. Killer front end and hood that hasn't changed since 2017 (at least not significantly, AFAICT).
The 16-18 SS front end is just so much better than the 19+'s. And then there's HBM! Hands down the best blue ever, sorry Riverside & Rapid folks!

Nope. I do prefer the tail lights of the 19+ cars but that is all. I have no doubt the A10 is excellent but so is the A8.
And the front end on my 17 is the best (except for the ZL1 front end). |
