Read the warranty. No where does it give GM the power to void your warranty because of a mod.

Like I said above, I will eat crow is issues a formal apology to GM if they provide the proof that the catch can caused the pump to fail. Better read your warrant a lot closer. They even go as far to tell you that you need to have you car serviced by qualified GM service professional at the recommended intervals. Which means all you DYIers that like to service your own cars have just voided your warranty too.
I don't do anything but follow their rules to the letter while my cars are under warranty, because I know they will try to get out of it if they can. I have personal experience with this crap.
As long as you keep your receipts for oil and filters etc, that's proof you've done your service I believe

Go read your warranty. Show me where it says your warranty is void because of a mod.

That's true, but there is also all a sentence saying they can deny for lack of proper maintenance.

There is their out if you don't take it to a GM dealer. It all comes down to the fact that that warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on because ,in the end, they can do what they want. They know that most people don't have the time or money to fight them. They only thing you can do is deny them your money.

Why did you send out an update to the petition with these exact words then?

I have looked further into the issue and scouring the actual warranty, cannot find ANY language that a mod will or can void your whole warranty.

So for now, the petition remains and the muky-mucks will continue to get updates and can read all the comments. Think of the petition as a living memorial to Superman09's engine.

Keep signing. GM is far oversteping their boundries.

So they're objectively wrong, but aren't going to follow to an established law in this particular case anyhow.

Either there are details missing in this story, or GM really isn't a company worth considering for future purchases.
