I have done this twice. Didn't stall it but I was in 5th thinking I was in reverse.

Different hand positions will help. Place the palm of your right hand on the inside of the shifter to shift from 5th to 6th. To shift from 4th to 5th, use more of the inside of your thumb. Play with the hand positions a bit and that will help you until the shifting becomes second nature.
Difficult: Try an RTO 9513 and don't touch the clutch.

I've only driven manual, but the manual in this 2SS is bittersweet. Skipshift every. single. time... I absolutely hate that about this car. Hate.

Do you know if using that device also defeats the lockout from accidentally shifting the transmission into reverse whilst at speed? Kindest, Donner |

There is a separate lockout for the reverse which is farther back on the transmission. This has no ill effects on the reverse lockout. Just make sure you're putting the skip shift on the correct one (as shown in the instructions) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

pfft transmissions.
You'll have people who dont want to adapt to a changing technology and people who do or can. Eventually human ability wont factor into any part of driving and then ex-driving enthusiasts will find something else to pilot. Bring on the automatics. Bring on the self driving cars. I'm holding out for personal space ships. |

I had a manual 2010 SS and still havn't driven a manual LT1 yet. I'm wondering if I'm missing out. I wish I could have one of each. Why can't I be Jay Leno?

You can make a skip shift eliminator for less than a $1, all you need is a pack of resistors from Radio Shack and you are all set. Takes maybe 15 minutes to put the resistor into the connector, tape the end up and tape the harness out of the way.
I've done it on every GM 6spd car I have owned, wont hurt a thing at all and does not harm the warranty at all either. |

Test drove both the automatic and the manual. What is not to love about the manual. The only time the hill assist has been activated is when I taught the kid how to hold the car on a hill. I have no issues holding the car even on the steepest hills. I wonder about the electronic brake statement, mine will not disengage unless you have your foot on the brake which kind of kills the point of using the electronic brake.

Got my M6 2SS yesterday, Haven't stalled it yet but I have tried to start driving without it fully engaged in to 1st gear. Makes an awful noise... The throws a bit far for my taste but I'm coming from a 370Z with a TWM short shifter.
I'm hearing a lot about the skip shift thing, I noticed sometimes it'll tell me to go from 1st to 4th gear to save gas but I ignore it. Is that what you guys are talking about? My shift indicator tells me I'm doing 1-2-3-4-5-6 or is it lying to me? |
