I don't remember seeing this before but came across it looking into the 7.3L Ford and the possibility of that engine going into the Raptor.

Autoblog had a thing about why its unlikely to happen. Basically, the engine is going to be very heavy (large iron block) & probably won't be any more powerful than the EcoBoast they currently use.

Yeah, this has been in the news for a while. Pretty sure RAM has already more or less verified that it is coming in one of their future product timeline releases.

It supposed to be called the TRX, and yeah, it will be hellcat powered.

There is....was supposed to be a TR version also, using a new N/A V8 making 500+ HP, but the word is no that it has been shelved, and they are moving full steam ahead on the Hellcat RAM. Kind of a shame, since it would have been nice to have a less expensive version of that truck.

So Ford says the 7.3 will fit in the F-150 and the Mustang, but I can't see it going in there as is. Would likely need a different tune and cam profile, not to mention its a heavy iron block that would add tons of front end weight.
