New member, First ZL1
I have been reading this board for a year or so but did not have a reason to join until yesterday. I have been watching used ZL1 prices for a few years but everyone wanted too much in my opinion.
I live in Ontario Canada and we have Kijiji which is like craigslist. I check province wide daily for Camaro's to look for good deals. Most good used cars or trucks that get traded at dealers all end up going stateside because of the dollar difference. Last Friday night I found a 2012 Camaro ZL1 for $39000 Canadian with 35000 kms (22000 miles). It was a bit over 2 hours away one way so I made the drive Sunday morning. I did a 15 min or so test drive but was very limited on what I could do with the nervous salesman in the car lol. I bought the car that day but could only go back yesterday to get it. As no real surpise it has been 8 celcius and raining 15mm for the last 24 hours and more rain all week. Most ZL1's up here start at the $46-48000 area and still go up to $55000 for a low k one. This is the best deal I have ever seen and did not wait. The colour would not of been my first pic but in real life it looks amazing. These look soo much better than in pictures. It's going to be a long Winter..... |

I do agree though about the long winters here. It's about time to put her away until Spring. In what part of ON are you? |

Originally I was looking for a black car. I love the sinister look of black but it does wash out some detail I think. I almost never even looked at the car because of the yellow color. The fact that my wife loves yellow made me go.
Once I saw the car and saw how good it looked I was sold. All the black accents on a yellow car really make it pop. My car has the exposed carbon fiber and roof/truck stripe. I'll get some better pics later in the week. I'm in Trenton, Ontario so fairly close to Shannonville motorsport park. 1/4 mile and road track . I had to go to Milton Ontario to buy the car. Now I am trying to find some garbage rims on kijiji to put on it for the winter so I can bring the F'1s inside. My house is new last year but I have not put heat in the garage yet. I'll get it out a bit this week if the rain ever quits. I know ill have to be carefull with these F1's. The nice thing with a yellow zl1 is the other zl1 in town is black so not the same cars. There was actually 2 black ZL1's in our small town. A couple months back one local Black ZL1 got traded but it was a auto so I didn't even drive it. It was going stateside also if they didn't sell it in a few days. I really want to put a cam in this as I love a choppy idle. Been a 350 carb'd chev guy since my first Camaro at 16. Aftermarket for these things is scary though compared to a 80's Camaro. |

Sweet.
For future reference, there’s actually four much, much better places to use to secure that car to your trailer. |
