Recaro Seats....too narrow...any way to adjust

I just picked up a 17 ZL1...I love everything about the car except the Recaro seat backs, they are too narrow and poke me in the back, is there anyway to make the seat backs wider? Or am I going to be replacing the seats soon?

No way to fix.. Replacements only option. Why did you not sit in them prior to purchase?

I did, but with that being the only thing I didn't like, I figured I would work on a fix for it later. Corvette seats hit me the same way.

I'm experiencing the same thing but it's only bothersome for longer drives of 2+ hours. First track day for her is about a month away but I expect the seats to be fantastic there. I'm going to stick with them for now but am guessing I'll eventually replace them w a wider racing seat. In the meantime, I'm on a diet to try to get more narrow. 6'3" 280lbs myself.

Yep, Same problem here...6'2",260...these seats were not made for big boys...

Guess it gives me motivation to stick to the gym to get narrow enough to fit in the seat, huh? I would assume the seat mounting pattern would be the same for a 16-17 regular seat, I'll do some looking around for a pair.

If you want to make a road trip to MS, I'll trade you my 2SS black leather seats for your Recaros. Are they heated and ventilated like the 2SS?

Yes they all come standard that way with heat/ventilation.

I am 5'8" and 200, the seats fit me fine. I did find that the seats do take some time to break in though, they have gotten more comfortable as I have drove the car.

Since my car was a "trade show" car built for special events, the driver seat had some wear marks on the left seat bar. GM Decided to send me a complete seat cover. This includes the foam and ZL1 emblem.... Zipper back... etc. So, I will be taking the seat apart to replace that "cover".... I believe both of the left and right "bars" should be "bendable" when the seat is apart. It fits my 5' 10" 200lb frame nicely, but when I do get it apart, I will advise.

I wish the seat went lower. I'm probably 6'3" but have a long torso leaving me squat for headroom. A racing helmet is gonna have me pinned to the headliner.
