*** I'm Torn & I Need Some Advice ***
I'm usually pretty solid when it comes to decisions, but this one has me good, so I need some guidance.
I currently have 2 cars on my Radar, one obviously being the 2010 1SS, the other being a 2009 Pointiac G8 GT. They both land as potential options to me since they are closely priced, and both are powerful. Where it gets tough is the functionality of both cars. For example the G8 being 4-Doors vs just 2 on the Camaro. I know this to sometimes help out on insurance costs among just being more practical in everyday scenarios. Also, a local dealership is selling a G8 GT used (5,xxx miles) for $22,000. Which makes that a massive steal! So, I guess what I really need to know is what it's going to take, parts and price wise to the G8 GT onto the Camaro SS level of 400hp. I would figure it wouldn't be too difficult since I start out at 361hp. .....and no, the GXP is not an option since it's price tag of $40,000 is way off what I'm trying to spend. TIA! |

I used to be Dragoneye...

With a simple tune for premium fuel, some folks are getting 400hp out of the G8 GT. So I can't imagine it would be too hard...if you value performance over functionality -- You might want to get the Camaro. It's got improved braking, suspension, and powertrain over the G8 GT from the factory...
But that is one heckuva deal. Wow. |

Well, for me, that is an easy choice, but I am not getting the car for a daily driver. As Dragoneye said, if you are getting it for performance, then go with the Camaro. Ultimately, it is up to you though.

1) Looking at and studying both, which one makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up and gives you that incredible "Gotta Have" feeling more? (If you're like me, you don't buy a car often, i.e., this is my one shot for many years to come so I'm gonna make it count)
2) If you went with the G8 now, how would you feel when you start to see Camaros around town in the next 6 months or so? Hate to answer a question with questions but hopefully this will help steer you in the right direction depending on your own answers. Good luck. |

it all depends on what you need the car for. It seems to me as though you are about the practicality. Being that your purchasing an automatic and do like the four door aspect. If you like the G8 enough do it, that's a hell of a deal!

The difference is $9,000.00
You could mod. the G8 pretty good for that. But I still think you will regret it. |

for that kind of a deal get the G8, I dunno how often your driving friends or family around but 4 doors is great for that. Figure you get the G8 now, chill a little, mod it, you'll be be making 400hp in no time and spending less doing it.

The vote for the Camaro should be unanimous. If not, then everyone should be off buying G8's if they think it's such a great deal.
