E46 M3 or SS

Selling the v6 because I have been stuck on an e46 m3 but also started thinking about upgrading to the v8, any opinions?

two completely different cars. the Camaro will be cheaper and easier to mod. the m3 will handle much better and be an overall better quality car. I do a lot of work with the Tampa Bimmer club here. if I could do it all over again and those were my two options.....id drop both and get a 335i coupe. tune..intercooler...e85 and the 335i is faster than both of what you are looking at and more economical.

Really a tough call.. have to go where your heart is.. personally, I prefer what I always wanted which was a 69 Camaro (settled for a 78 Nova in my younger years) but the 5th Gen did it for me.. I owned a 325i years ago.. I love the engineering and feel of them no doubt but it's like owning a Harley vs Honda CBR or something like that. Just a preference thing. Been all around the block here and came back to my roots. Do what fits you and what will make you sleepless thinking about it .. That is what your choice is.

I'm with one of the above posters; get a 335i if you're eyeballing a BMW. If not, there's nothing inherently wrong with moving to an SS but, in the end I think you'll be disappointed with the car.

If I had the money, I'd go for the 335i and mod it.

As long as the m3 is in proper condition, I would go with that. It's a classic for a reason.

Test drove a 2012 2SS M6 w/ 26K a month ago.

My regular daily is a DC 4x4 Tundra

However, my supplemental daily is a 2006 330I M6 w/ Sport & Nav, 80K & brand new Michelin Pilot Super Sports. It is in perfect working order.

The day of test drive I had my 330I.

Even for a 9 year old BMW the difference was stark.

I have wanted a 5th Gen forever, as I recently sold my 02 Z28 M6.

I wanted to be impressed!!!

I heard the infamous clunk, cabin noise was awful, the radio looked like something from a rental car.

I have to have one!!!

YMMV,
