DRL Light dims when breaks applied

OK guys I thought I'd pick your brains on this one. I have aftermarket lights that include DRL's in the assembly. The DRL'S are hardwired to the fuse box. When I hit the BREAKS DURING THE DAY, The passenger headlights DRL's dims significantly when I release the break it goes back to normal. This doesn't effect the driver side which makes no sense because they are both hardwired together. Also why would the break pedal have anything to do with the headlights lol. I found out at night or when I block the light sensor on the camaro, the passenger side headlights drl doesn't dim and acts as normal. Everything else on both sets of headlights works as it should and there's no hyper flash issues. https://youtu.be/8wQpsQOvkVw

I'm going to guess a drop in voltage when the break is pressed but I don't know for sure.

I'll venture a guess you also have aftermarket brake lights in the rear, or did some LED "upgrades" elsewhere on the same circuit.

There are aftermarket tailights with the appropriate harness with resistors, they were made by a company online I forgot the name. Anyways its weird that it only affects the passenger side since both headlights are on the same fuse tap for DRL'S. At night they work like a dream during the day the passenger headlight DRL's dims when the break is hit. If I cover my hand over the camaro light sensor and hit the break the DRL's work fine. I did notice the headlight DRL's are very bright during the day but are dim at night due to the light sensor.

The DRL's might get variable voltage based on ambient light. I'll check the repair manual. Your aftermarket unit may not respond in the same way as the stock units.

Turns out it was aftermarket diffuser led lights, I unplugged them and now the headlights DRL's work as they should. I'm thinking adding that one extra thing to the circuit caused too much power draw and so the BCM dimmed the lights

Yeah, glad I'm not into these things.
I just chuckle to myself when I see cars (all types) with these "upgrades" flickering.

It wasn't flickering it dimmed when the break was pressed. They now work better than the stock headlights. There's absolutely nothing wrong with them, they're $1300 headlights with qaud beams and they get ALOT of compliments. Unfortunelty when upgrading things on a camaro the BCM and ECM are very sensitive so you have to do some troubleshooting to get them to run.

I believe he meant the extra diffuser LED panels as the root cause, not those elegant Morimoto headlights (that I assume you have, based on the price and their "quadness").

I'm not knocking you. It is difficult to get these things right when the stock circuitry is expecting the load of an incandescent or halogen.
Most consumers expect these aftermarket units to be plug-and-play. Often they are not.
I choose the easy route-- stick with stock.
