We can debate all day, but the short answer to the OP is "no", the rest is irrelevant to the question.

Both, I should have been clearer in my earlier post!

Yep, that's what my window sticker lists!

All good, no arguing from me! Qualifiers are important, too many people use absolutes .

For what it's worth, when I was building on the site (in 2020) I was able to option the rearview cam on a 1SS without the 1LE package. It adds it, along with the extra cost.
I debated 2SS but went with the 1LE add on instead, seemed like a better bang for the buck, especially as I did not want many of the "extras" in the 2SS

Unless that has changed, you can indeed build with one as an option.
According to the Chevrolet website the rearview camera mirror is not available on the 1SS. It's only available on the 2SS and the ZL1.

Correct, it is an option for the 1SS just like the HUD.

But it only comes on the 2SS and ZL1's as a standard.

Unless I'm missing something, the website says the rear camera mirror is "Not Available" on the 1SS. Not even as an option.

The plot thickens: the 2022/23 order guides show this a standard on all trims except the resolution is only HD on the 3LT, 1SS, 2SS and ZL1, see coupe below (chart for the convertible looks similar):

That's the back up camera. Look at the rear camera mirror above on your chart. That's not available on the 1SS, only on the 3LT, 2SS and ZL1.

The wording is part of the confusion I'm afraid. All Camaros have the back up camera. Only certain Camaros have the rear camera mirror.

THIS!

I've been doing this in all my vehicles and it totally eliminates blind spots. I move my head to the far extents of my driver's seat left and right and adjust to just see the side of the car. Then I field adjust such that cars move from my rear view to side mirror to side window without any gaps. Totally works and my driving (20k-30k interstate a year) is much more confident. I also pay attention at all times but quick lane changes in traffic need a quick check.

Interesting,

I do this instinctively by default, never knew it had a name or a technique involved.

I know when I want to change lanes if I wait till I see the car in the rear view I know I can get over without any issues.

But I was taught this at driving school when I was 17.

I rarely find myself needing to drive like an ass to be able to change lanes. Doesn't mean it never happens, because I'm not the only ass on the road, but I don't have to do it often.

Me too. And I was also taught the same thing in Driver's Ed in school 45 years ago.

Gotcha, these marketing names got me confused. Thanks.

Not too sure on the newer models but the 16-18 has lower resolution displays on the LT trims with 7” radio. I believe they are 720p while the 8” displays are 1080p.

I added the rear view camera sharkfin version on my ‘16 1LT. All you really need custom is Gen5DIY’s power harness, everything else can be bought using OEM part numbers
