Rumored EV sedan replacement for Camaro

Not sure if this is general knowledge already, but here is an article on a Chevy EV sedan (destined for the Chinese market) which contains the following bit of speculation:

"There have been rumors that the current gas-powered Camaro will be replaced by an electric sport sedan, but Chevrolet has not officially said anything about its immediate plans for the pony car..."

Old news. New news circulating around that Corvette will become a brand, and that there will be a performance sedan and crossover coming from the brand. If handled right, it could be the shot in the arm that Chevrolet has been begging for. We haven't had excitement here in a long time.

This is a very old rumor and every EV that has come out, is coming out, or is being developed that we know of has a thread about it with the OP saying "This is going to replace the Camaro." The Blazer EV, the new Caddy EV, the Corvette EV are all examples of vehicles that have threads about being the Camaro's replacement.

That sounded interesting until I read this header for an article on the subject:

I think we will fine , if and when they do replace the Camaro with a EV it will be announced as a Camaro - Sad day no doubt ---- BUT Whata ya do !!!!

I agree. EVs just will not cut it in the corvette line. Its a novelty, but consumers paying corvette pricepoints want what they want: v8 gas powered engines.
