OK, after a lifetime of just reading, its my turn to help. I have a 2011 LS3. I've been through 3 Radiators. I live in AZ, and 110 degree temps are the norm in the summer. These radiators are plastic and metal bonded together. They cant handle the stress.

Have him check the overflow tank. I guarantee it'll be empty. Small, impossible to see pinhole leaks are causing the coolant to leak out. You go around thinking everything is fine, and then when you shut off the car the fans keep running for a few minutes cause the car is so hot. Time for a radiator replacement. After my third replacement I finally left OEM behind and went with a Mishimoto. I highly recommend this. Get away from the dual material construction.

How did you find out it was a faulty sensor?
I was getting the message on the DIC, but didn't smell like the engine was too hot and the coolant level was correct. So I replaced the sensor and the errors went away.

I'm not sure what you mean about pucking up coolant but maybe the radiator is partially restricted. Take out the radiator and have it checked or replace it.

T-stat checked out ok, verified that both hoses are hot, and fans are working. The only other thing it could be is air in the system. I told him I never had a problem when changing coolant out but I always had the front end jacked up. He said he ordered some kind of gravity fed coolant device. I told him if that doesn't work to try jacking the front end up start the car and add coolant if it needs it. Thanks guys for all your help we really appreciate it. I'll let you know the outcome.

He’s probably using a no spill radiator funnel. Comes with attachments to fit all sorts of radiators . Anywhere from $30 to $50.
Worked well for me. Hope you get squared away.

Well it turned out to be the oil cooler coolant hose that goes from the radiator to the block had a small leak keeping the system from pressurizing.
