He hasn't changed any wiring on the fans.

If the overheating started AFTER the water pump and t-stat were replaced, it definitely could be air in the system, especially if it was not properly purged.

I think that he told me it was overheating before he changed anything. That's why he started changing things. I was wondering if he actually got a bad t-stat? Or maybe he put it in backwards?

Impossible to put the stat in backwards. I think if it were me, I'd verify the gauge is accurate before I did anything else.

Any mods done? Check oil level, head gasket leak detector (it's a 2010 LS3 so there is a rad cap). Could have got combustion gases in the cooling system, which would cause overheating. The LS3 does not like to self purge if any air is trapped. Got to keep adding coolant at the radiator while squeezing upper and lower hoses while warming up. Watch for the fans and belts. Both hoses should be hot, along heater core hoses. Water pump pulley actually turning? Partially plugged catalytic converters. Enough fuel into cylinders for cooling (should throw a cel though if not).

Is it overheating or is he just getting the overheating error? I started getting that message on my DIC due to faulty Engine Coolant Temperature Sender.

No mods. I'll tell him to check both hoses though. Thanks

Yeah it's actually overheating, pucking up coolant.

How did you find out it was a faulty sensor?
