Lightbulb Love It Or Hate It

I realize many 5th generation owners aren't fans of the 2019 6th generation SS refresh. I absolutely love it and recently, when I visited our local dealership for an oil change, I had the pleasure of checking out this '19 SS in the color Shock. All I can say is that the pictures don't do it justice. If I weren't planning to purchase a larger home (to fit my vehicles) in the Spring, I would see if a deal could be worked out.

Don’t know about the 19’s but when i lifted the hood of the 16,17 and even a ZL1, I was not impressed with exposed welds, joint goo and crappy paint under there. Hell, I can and do wax the painted surfaces under my 2015 2SS. Just seems like one of those, how you do one thing... kind of scenarios.

I don't love it but I don't hate it. My opinion is neutral on the looks of the 2019 SS.
The 1LE's look good I think. The front spoiler and lowered ride height compliment the 2019 front end.

The 6th gen V8 cars are bad ass performers that is for sure. One day I’d like to have a 6th to compliment my 5th. About the only way I’ll get rid of my current SS would be to trade up to a Z28. That’s the only other 5th gen I want.

Change is inevitable......as long as it's done right. Camaro may have had an off year or two in the past, but for the most part they have been spot on in front to rear styling. I'd buy one.....if I ever tire of the retro 5th gen. Otherwise, this one stays. I hate to admit, but I'm really digging the new VW id Buzz.

Yes, while the paint under my hood may not be metallic, it is clear coated and looks nice. And that strut tower on the 6th just looks ugly and unfinished. I get that's nitpicking a bit but you've probably seen the beautiful under-hood creations here on the 5th site.

For me, it depends on the color. But with the brighter colors I personally think there is too much black on the front. That's just what throws it off for me. But I like the lines of the new car......They went back to a more squared up body design they had with the 5th

Not a fan of the front grill! Looks too much like a Charger or worst; a Camry!!! Meaning it's Ugly!

I thought it was just me being anal.
It just screams we-don't-give-crap and as a car guy big on detail it just falls on its face.
Maybe it's just me but I find the taillights bug-eyed and hard to look at directly.

But i give them points for the crush, shock and blue paint colors.

That is a very nice looking car. And yes, performance-wise, they're awesome but I still love me 5th. If I had the extra 55HP, ok, maybe a 100, I'd marry my car! Someday...
