Weapon-X build

My son and I drove down to Weapon-X yesterday to drop off my car for the beginning 2 WEEK build.
The entire build will be videoed and all the data/etc will be used by Weapon-X.
The will start from the 700hp package, then 750, 800, and then a full Supercharger port, pulleys, and another tune. Cooling and fuel will be the goal on the way to the upcoming Whipple and 1000hp.
The thing I'm really excited about, is the exhaust and 5" intake...I'm ready for it to be LOUD! TIRED OF QUIET!
2X3 Coated Kooks, no cat Weapon-X Custom fab, and Flowmaster Outlaw NPP...should do the job!lol

If you are planning on the 1000hp package, wouldn't you just want to save the money and just start with the 1000hp from the start vs. going through all the packages??

I’m sure he’s worked out something with weaponX on this deal. The mention of videos and all that documentation. There is a lot to learn here. I’m assuming there is something in this for WeaponX, too.

Excited for this. It’s a great thing for our community for there to be some perspectives as to what options there are and what the effects of them will be in the real world. This helps others and myself choose the best options for our budget or taste. Keep us posted

Oh, we sure will......
As an enthusiast, I'm just as torn as most, trying to spend my money wisely.
Sometimes I have made purchases for looks only to dress up the engine bay,...but there is still alot of confusion when it comes to what you can reliably do to the LT4 and the 1.7, and how they work together.
Thankfully Ben Floated this idea and his plan, and I jumped on it....beside my benefit, it will validate his packages and showcase his ZL1 builds.
I really planned on just going to a Whipple right now...but I'm really glad I waited...more on that later.

I’ll be paying attention to the heat soak and cooling mods once you move over to the Whipple. Thanks for you being willing to share with the group.

It will be interesting for me to see what heat soak issues can be combated with the 1.7, for those that don't want to change blowers.
In my mind, I'm not going to go past 1000 hp to the motor! That seems to be the agreeable number where you lose DD capability.
This car is my DD...but if Ben can make it reliable, comfortable, and streetable past that, then OK.
Ben has been working with Whipple and I'm going to wait just A LITTLE longer!

Not to sound mean or negative,

I'm sorry but what's the fascination with throwing away money on the 1.7L blower if your doing a whipple later?

1200.00 porting
600.00 TB
700.00 lower pulley
230.00 upper pulley

$2300.00 add the heat exchangers another 1300.00 $3600.00 plus probably going to have to port the heads to make 800hp another 1200 to 1500 so you might even have 5k into the blower getting to 800..

WHY? Whipple 5700.00 - 2000.00(selling your 1.7) $3700.00 OR
2300 Maggi 4995.00 - 2000K $2995.00 I doubt you will need all that other crap to make the power your looking for.

The other blowers will make 800 so much easier and more efficiently..

Why not just do the whipple now?

Weapon X is using his car for R&D (somewhat) as well as to showcase their packages. That’s why he’s starting from the bottom and working his way up.

Well... as someone who has the WxM X1000 package on my car WITHOUT a cam, I can tell you that I'm very happy with it. Picked it up from them in Ohio just before the 4th of July and made the drive all the way back to Key West FL (over 20hrs). I use it regularly, and make drives up to Miami for shows/events.

Looking forward to see how this turns out for ya! Feel free to checkout the Instagram for the Dyno sheet and stuff: Bianca_ZL1
