Proposed changes for SCCA Solo Autocross next year
Some interesting stuff in here, including classing for the ZL1 1LE and maybe even the ability to swap out magride on a 1LE/ZL1 and be able to stay in street class, and note the lack of "Move SS 1LE to BS" lol so that's not even being considered at this point. It's definitely worth reading through! And keep in mind that these are strictly PROPOSED changes!!!

the SS 1LE wont be moved anytime soon unless people start running them at events.
The last local event we did a test with my SS and the v6 1LE and gathered some data for the SEB to look into. Haven't heard anything on weather or not it will be moved but its a possibility. If anyone who has a green 1LE wants to sell me theirs and buy my car id be happy to run the SS 1LE in AS all season just for data to get it moved to BS anyone? anyone? Bueller... Bueller...

I dont think the 1le getting moved to b street has anything to do with a lack of data, i think it has to do with trying to minimize the number of butthurt individuals. The ss 1le would crush b street and just objectively be the best car by a large margin, which would lead to a lot of butthurt individuals in b street. Leaving it in a street onky makes 1le owners butthurt, which is a much smaller inpact.

Whelp, I guess I'll be leaving street category next year. Good thing SCCA thinks my 3,800LB+ car can keep up with 3,000LB Porsche's and Lotus'. I know all that aero on my car will do real good at auto-x speeds.
Maybe I'll run ESP, CAM-C doesn't have but one, occasionally two, drivers here. Or maybe I'll just run BMW club and say $crew SCCA. |

I don't know if it'd crush BS (The cayman that won BS coned away a run that would have been faster than AS), but I don't think it's moving anywhere anytime soon.
FWIW I coned away top PAX in AS this past weekend. Some hack named Courtney in an old Camaro edged me out |

We have a time attack series here at PPIR that CRUSHES SCCA events.
More runs, faster courses, sensible rules, and NO WORKING. For lower entry costs. The SCCA would lead you to believe it's not possible, but it is. I will still do occasional SCCA events in STP or CAM but only because I'm an addict. The ruleset is a convoluted mess that favors cars owned by the SEB. But that's just like, everyone's, opinion, man... |

A lot of that depends on who is running your clubs. I’m really lucky in my region, we have a core troupe of people that run our local chapter well. We get an average of 160 people an even, 6 runs, on 60 second national level course and we only get to race 6 months out of the year lol.
