Fan display on Mylink problem

Remember reading about the fan display on Mylink either being stuck on a # or on off. On my 2013 SS it has happened twice where the fan is working and changes speed turning the knob but the display shows off. It has corrected itself after shutting engine off and restarting. Is there a fix or do we have to live with todays and future problems with Mylink. Concerning the problem whereas the names of songs not always showing up on the HUD, the service mgr spoke with the field service rep and the answer is Chevy knows of this problem but has no fix and does not plan to have a fix in the future.

According to the dealer I went to a few weeks back, GM is aware of this issue and it is not an "issue". The tech said that this is a feature in the mylink system and it is supposed to do that. He even went as far as printing "GM" documents stating that it was a feature...Just learn to live with it lol

Lies!!!!!! How can something that works right part of the time not be an issue? GM just not want to invest the time into fixing it.

So very true, under warranty it is a non issue but mention it out of warranty and theybwill charge you. GM does not want to deal with it as that is why the BS Mary Barra is telling the congressional committee is all lies, that the new GM is not gonna sweep things under the rug but deal with them directly. Look at the communication issue between Mylink and the HUD where songs sometimes are not displayed, my service mgr spoke in petson about this with the field service rep and the reps reply "GM knows about this issue but has no fix and has no plans for the future for a fix". Also the early failures of our heater cores, why only the Camaro and out of warranty it is an $1800 job with a new windshield.

I think it's something that we will have to live with and just overlook. The fact that a GM rep had opened a case for me and also involved the "Customer Experience Manager" from the dealership to help resolve the many issues I've had with my 2013 was great, however they become more unresponsive and unhelpful after a few exchanges.

I will open a case today on mine (2013 2LT/RS - Mfg Date on door sticker 8/2012) just to add it to the mix. I noticed the fan speed was stuck on 2, even though I rotated the dial to off (and it went off but the speed stayed at 2), or however I rotated it the speed didn't change. Next drive, everything worked fine.

Im having this issue now. My heat works fine, but the display shows OFF. So a dealer isnt going to fix this? Is it a software issue?

From what I am told, no fix, something like problems going from fast bus speed to slow bus speed. Shut motor and restart back to normal, gm knows about it but no fix as well as the early failures of heater core.

I have the fan speed problem as well as the on again off again radio information to the HUD. It would be interesting to know how many people with the Mylink have had no issues at all. My guess is that is a very small number.

I have the same, fan speed and radio info to HUD. My dealer checked with regional rep who said they know about these problems but have no fix now or any fix planned for the future. Send letters of complaint to CEO Mary Barra's office.

Not that I am satisfied with the Mylink issues but at least in my case I've figured out how to over ride the problems. First of all everything works the first start of the day. After sitting for a couple of hours, the fan speed freeze will occur. A simple restart takes career of that problem. If the HUD/radio info problem occurs, I turn off the ignition, remove the key, open the door then count to about 1 minute. Once I restart the car, everything is working properly. I do this because it makes me feel better to be driving around and having everything functioning as designed. Some of you probably think like me, and some of you probably could care less if you don't see the radio info in the HUD. I guess I have a HUD fettush.

My fan issue was "fixed" this morning. Only thing I did last night was a radio reset from the MyLink menu. Not sure if that really fixed it, or its just a random issue. Has anyone gone to the dealer to get the latest software pushed? I wondering if that would help.
