How do you fasten them to keep them from falling off or being ejected?

If you look closely, there's a threaded rod on the bottom that likely goes forward to a bracket welded under the stock pipe. He's got tubes for the threaded rod on top and bottom, so the tips can be rotated 180* depending on which side of the track the sound equipment is on.

Oh I see. Clever. I may be looking into doing something like that. Thanks!

I don't have pictures but the Porsche Cup cars used to drill holes and crisscross safety wire over the tips at Roebling Road to knock a couple of decibels off.

Here you go. Simply slide them in and tighten one bolt. No issues at full throttle on a 90db day.
And it sounds even better down the front straight because it directs the sound towards the wall 😂

Thanks!

How does the 'one bolt' work on your setup? Through the bottom of the tip? i don't see any external brackets...

There’s a u-hook that attaches to the exhaust bracket. I’ll get a pick when I have a chance to pull them out.

I started from scratch and fabbed up a new 'noise abatement' strategy today.

I cut off the stock tip, and welded on V-band flanges to re-mount it, then made a second 3" extended tip with a 90* turn for each side to re-direct the sound.

Easy to swap, and they can be rotated to change direction for different tracks.

I only bothered with the outboard tips, because that's where the exhaust goes (bypassing the muffler) in 'track mode', when the valve is opened up. Any gasses going through the muffler will be quiet enough that I'm not worried about the inboard tips.

Interestingly, the size of the actual stock exhaust at that point is 2 1/4"... my turnouts are 3".

I may shoot them with a coat of high-temp black paint, but I'll wait to see if they pass sound first.

Nicely done!! I may have to visit my local custom exhaust shop before this upcoming season starts. Tracks are NOT getting any more sound friendly that's for sure, so I need to come up with a db solution on standby for when it WILL be needed.

So I shot them with some high-temp paint, and today we passed sound at our 95dB track...
