After "goo gone"

After using the goo gone method to de badge, do you use detailed spray to get the goo gone off? Do you need to reseal or reapply the top coat? Do a full detail process again? What's recommended?

You should wipe area with diluted IPA. Then reapply sealant.

I used a isopropyl to cut the goo gone oil and then waxed the area (liquid glass). I dont think the googone will cut into the clear coat or anything.

BTW, isnt that pita job?!

If you have patience, it's far easier than what most people do. Get a small bottle of that will produce drops like an eyedropper bottle or contact solution. Marinate the badge every 10 min with a few drops. Do this over the course of 90 min.

The badge will almost fall off.

I like to use plastic wrap and tape to make a pocket around the emblem...then squirt goo gone into the pocket and seal with tape.

Come back an hour after and it comes right off. Works well for sticker residue too.

1) Heat gun or blow dryer to heat up the badge first.
2) Dental floss or fishing line to remove after heating up.
3) Adhesive remover (Goo Gone). Rapid Tac Rapid Remover works best.
4) Clean residue with soap/water.
5) Machine polish the area to remove any micro-marring or "ghosting".
6) Wipe down with IPA or Carpro Eraser, apply protection.

Takes about 15 minutes.

That rear emblem on the SS literally took my 1.5 hrs to get off and put new one on. That adhesive was like super glue.
