Disable auto-dimming mirrors?

Hey - does anyone know how to turn off the auto-dimming rear view mirror / driver side mirror in a 3LT Z51? I'm going to put tint on the windows and am a bit concerned that between the tint and the auto-dimming it may be too dark at night. I looked in the manual but it doesn't state how (or if it is possible) to turn the feature off. Reading on some other forums apparently there is a sensor that can be covered to stop the auto-dimming from working but after looking I can't seem to find it. Does anyone have any advice or can point me in the right direction? Thanks.

I don't believe the auto dim can be disabled from what I can find. However, the auto dim uses a light sensor in the interior of the car to determine when to dim the mirrors, so it's very likely the tint will reduce the light enough to kind of disable the system. It worked out that way on my 2002's auto dim.

It is in the rearview mirror just left of center.
