Update 3/30/2010:

- As of today we will also be adding a comp cams bearing upgrade to the stock rockers as a value-minded way to improve their function and reliability.

- We have also ordered the custom Cometic gaskets for the engine assembly.
ARP head bolts are on the way as well.

- We have also decided to upgrade the timing chain witha reinforced piece which allows us to maintain the stock gears and components but adds a much more durable timing chain to handle the increased cam that the 427 will have.

I am really looking forward to read your impresssions about the MGW shifter. I used to have one on my 2004 Mustang and loved it. Keep us posted and let us see pics of the install and final product. Thanks.

Steve at ******** was extremely helpful, and the products are amazing. They fit very well, and the finished product turned out better than I had expected.

So here is a little outline of the stereo build:

First, here is a picture of the ******** box being test fit before I bolted it down. You do not need to bolt it down because it fits so tight, but I did because this car will see some aggressive road course driving!!

The most complicated part of the install is bending the mounting brackets just right...I say complicated, but it was very easy to do...the entire install is a virtual no brainer (except for wiring!!!)

Here is the bracket installed behind my sound processor

Here is the Amp rack installed and wired up. The amp is an Alpine PDX.5 which is running JL audio components in the front and 6x9 in the rear... The sub is a JL 12W3.

And the final result. I love the clean install and look, and it maintains the pass through of the back seat. The combination o fthe subs and amp sounds amazing!! It is capable of A LOT of bass, but I keep it turned down to where I like it.

now that i saw the pic of the sub thumps box, all i have to say is its cheap. thats just mdf wood. i suggest if you want to make that jl sound good to insulate the box. i would recommend dynamat. o yeah and when i am talking sound good i mean hit the freq notes right and sound clean. i to am not into loud hard hitting bass. i go for SQ in my cars

other then that GREAT JOB.

As of 2:45PM on Friday april 2nd, the Camaro was dropped off with the guys at New Era Performance.

They will be developing a custom cam profile, and dropping in the new 427 from ERL Performance. A pile of new parts awaits this part of the build, and we are extremely excited to update you guys as often as we can.

Keep checking back!!

Yeah they know...
And I have some painting to do on the car when I get it back... It has some minor scars from last year that I need to have touched up as well. Tons to do and VERY little time to do it!!

If there is some good news, I now know my new truck is able to tow the car with no issues whatsoever and it is a nice comfy ride!! LOL...

Hope to know more about picking up the car with the 427 installed in the middle of the week... I am shooting for this weekend, or first of the week.
