Going to Gateway Motorsports Saturday
I'm heading to St louis Saturday morning to run my car for the first time. This will be their first weekend of drag racing since the last 2 were cancelled because of weather. Hoping to see some really low 12's or better. The weather is supposed to be in the mid 60's with lower humidity in the morning and probably increasing in the afternoon since some rain will move in later tomorrow night. I'm just hoping track prep will be decent since its their first bracket race. My ultimate goal is to get the car into the 11.60's before I spray it sometime this year. So, hopefully I'll see some st louis Camaros show up for some bracket racing.

Only got to make 3 passes. First pass was 12.05@115.48 with 1.81 60ft. Second pass was 12.49@115.23 with 2.11 60ft, spun like a mofo and it short shifted cause I had to let out of it since it started to wheel hop, 3 pass was 12.04@115.83 with 1.79 60 ft. I thougt for sure on that pass it would break into the 11's. Got beat in the first round, I had to spot a mustang over 2 seconds, I dialed in a 12.00 and he dial a 14.34, his reaction time was a .019 and mine was a .005 which is a really good light, I caught right in the traps, lost by a couple hundreds, just missed my dial in by .004 and he ran right on his. I'll post my ships a little later.

I posted this on the fast e/t thread but didn't see this and really didn't want to add to the thread.
Congrats that's an amazing time. That 60' is an absolute killer on stock tires with no TC. Impressive. Almost as fast as your best pass on your G8 with a supercharger and DRs. |

Your right, almost as fast and I'm going next Saturday again to try and better that time. With drag radials I think its going to out perform the g8.

They are some really good passes homie !!! I'm sure you could make the 11's on the factory tires with some more runs. If all else fails you can work on putting the car on a diet....that would definitely get you there, and it will probably be my next avenue after I get a couple more runs in myself.

I'm gonna run a little less fuel this time. I calculated wrong on how much I would have when I got to the track. I had just a little under half tank. I need to get there next time with a quarter tank and like you said a few more passes on getting it to launch just a tad better and 11's will be there. I'm planning Saturday again.

What the secret to launching the A8? Flash it just off idle?

Yes just off idle. I wanted to try bringing up the R's but didn't get enough runs. Hopefully this weekend I can.
