OMG, thanks for this Mark114. I read the Gen6 article - YES, this is exactly why I bought the Camaro.

Sixth-Gen Camaro (2016–24): The one that nailed it

Also, there are some great comments at the end of the article… i mean, psycho comments:

Quote:
Having said all that, I never bought one, even though I wanted it. I could never come to terms with the visibility. I am an “aggressive driver” meaning I change lanes quickly and I was terrified I’d side swipe someone I never saw in a too-fast lane change. Plus, having no idea if/where the police are is also a concern.

From the article, I liked this comment, because it describes the feeling of driving the Gen6 Camaro in a few words: "...it handles like a Miata, puts the power down like a Porsche, launches like a Tesla and has more grip than you will believe".

What a great car this is...

Thanks for sharing It could've been a little more extensive as an article, with more interviews, maybe a few extra phone calls to research this specific one instead of just quoting earlier comments from the ex-Camaro team. Also some very strange comments indeed

What a great car this is...
1000%.

Clearly this car isn't for everyone, though, Glen's comment below the article was the most surprising (if he's even the same person as the camaro6 member I'm thinking of), but the harpers of bad visibility like the other guy mentioned above just won't let it go, as usual.

The absolute difference is maybe an inch or two of obstruction at the C pillar and not seeing the road behind you in the "normal" rear view mirror, from about 120-130 degrees backwards throughout the front all around it's the same as any other car that isn't a glass box; in fact, the extra long doors and windows with the B pillar so far back even help with everyday side glances.

It's quite fascinating how the visibility in this car crosses the low confidence threshold of so many people that are (supposedly) okay with a Mustang, definitely a data point and a lesson for any future Camaro designer. Along with the interior, where there are trivial/obvious small changes that would make people feel better about that, too.

I am perfectly fine with car, 100% satisfied, best car I've ever driven and I enjoy every second that I spend in it. Always looking forward to get in an drive it. Too bad that GM stopped the production of such an amazing driving machine.

At least in ‘02 the door was left open for a return, as the main reasons for ending the F-body was that it couldn’t meet future safety requirements and at the same time the St Terresse plant contract had stipulated if the Camaro nameplate is built it must be built at St Therresse or canceled. They wanted to close the plant. Lots of Union wrangling to untangle that mess.

Today it just pretty much feels like it’s the end of the Camaro for good.

I think the agreement with the Canadian Auto Workers was “if” the Camaro name came back after 2002, it had to be built in Canada, which it was with the 5th Gen. Ste. Therese was demolished after F body production ended, so it couldn’t be built there.

the visibility comments are blown so out of proportion! Seriously not as bad as people comment about it IMHO

What makes the 6gen unique is not just the power, but the fact that it's so balanced and handles so well, and the fact that comes from the underlying chassis itself, and not just ultra-sticky tires (aka mustang track pack models).
