I love the 5th gen. Id keep it and personalize it to be your own 'custom' ride. I think they did an incredible job making the 5th gen Camaros resemble early models like the late 60's yet keep it looking modern and aggressive. I PERSONALLY do not care for the 6th gen body style as I feel it Doesnt retain enough of the classic look inside and out. Im not a fan of the more curvy edges it has either. Nonetheless, a Camaro is a Camaro and Im sure you'll be happy either way!

5th gen as long as it's pre 2013, I haven't really cared for where the body styling is going starting with 2014.

I feel the exact opposite. If I had, for some odd reason, purchased a 10-13, I'd be looking to get out of that car a quickly as possible; even if that meant downgrading.

However, I really like the 6th Gens but, I can't justify trading my car for another SS--at least not in the current trims. I'd consider a 6th Gen 1LE, though. That cost difference is pretty rough for any 6th Gen iteration.

If you like the style of Gen6 I would go that way. I personally don't like the looks of the Gen6. Love mine the way it is!

I havent driven a 6th gen because the 5th gen value tanked so unless i sold mine privately to some one who wants my mods at my price its not going to happen. My car and a 6th gen are about equal in performance according to what iv read about the 6th gen. Id take a 6th gen and have a car just as good with a warranty and some resale value.

I should have bought a ZL1

Imo, I would trade in my 5th gen for a 6th gen, as I tend to prefer keeping my car stock in the performance department. I'd probably only add the CAI that GM is providing with a tune. A 12.3 1/4 mile car is plenty for me. I prefer the interior and styling of the 6th gen now that I've thought it through.

Thoughts?
I was trying to decide close to the same thing. Then went and set in a 6 Gen. I'm 6'4" and over 250. Wasn't comfortable for me so that made my decision. Nice looking though. You might look into the 2016 50th year special edition. Then you could have the dilemma of trading that for a 50th anniversary edition.
GL I think there all good dilemmas to have if your going to have any.

It makes the care more unique, and akin to your personality and driving style. A stock car is a stock car. That's my .02

Also if you're looking into a 6th gen you are likely in a similar price range for the ZL1

i put nothing into a car..seen it all before and people slinging their cash away..same with superbikes..had mates put many thousands into a bike then the next year something better comes along and they start again..imho keep your car spotless and stock then once you want to change to something better your gonna get it as good as you can get..
ofc if u intend to keep your car forever then mod away..mods add zero value to a car..and imho de-value it a lot..i would never buy a car modded EVER

I like the 6th gen just fine for the most part, and will admit it's starting to grow on me from some angles. I still love my '15 though, and would rather continue modding it to my liking, and enjoying the hell out of it.

Whatever's next is going to need to be as big of a step up from the 1LE as it was over my prior car (if that makes any sense).. so it's going to be something like a 6th gen ZL1, or a C7 Z06. Neither of those are realistic options for me in the foreseeable future.

Nice to get your thoughts guys, I myself don't plan on upgrading for the year. I still want to get into a manual dd for the learning process, since the next sports car would have to be a manual transmission for me.

I'm wondering about the feel of the new gen(if it's that much different), would love to see a 5th gen to 6th gen comparison video.

The used car deals are where its at on 5th gen. Love my 2011 convertible that I got at $26000 with only 3200 miles on it. Plus, I must say, I have a soft spot for those rear brake lights. Just love the design.
