Thumbs up Painted rear diffuser on dual tips bumper (with pics)

Hi all!!,
since the moment I took delivery of my Camaro Turbo, I really did not like the rear diffuser finishing: it was in soft touch raw plastic, giving a very poor looks to the rear view of the car.

I decided to go for a full paint refinish and went to a friend's bodyshop to do the job.

HOW IT WAS:
This was the look of my Mosaic Black metallic Camaro with the original "raw plastic" rear diffuser:

HOW TO DO IT:
This is quite a good reference video on how to get access to rear facia and how to get the rear diffuser in your hands to get a perfect paint job:

Please note that the middle part (under the trunk opening) must be handled with care, or you will break some plastic seals that will need to be fixed with glue before you put your rear facia back on the car.

HOW IT LOOKED [WITHOUT A BUMPER AND A TAIL LIGHT]:

HOW IT LOOKED ON THE LIFTER:

HOW IT LOOKS NOW ON THE GROUND - WORK FINISHED 100%:

I hope this helped!! I'm VERY satisfied by the results: the car now looks wider and much more finished that it used to be before.

See you!!,
Eos

Looks good. They should all come painted like that. Raw plastic looks cheap.

Yes, it is. Of course it is (at the moment) unavailable for the 2.0 Turbo cars, so you can only have a gloss black diffuser from GM just with the V6 and V8 cars that have the NPP option mounted.

Great!! It's worth all the money you are going to spend. Just take some pictures of the "Before" and "After" and add them to this topic.. It would be great!!

Looks great! Guess I'll have to do the same when I switch exhausts and change the rear lights to the GM Smoked
