Camaro Radio Module Upgrade - Adding HDRadio, Nav, Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto

For those that want wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, Navigation & HDRadio, this is your ticket. For those wondering, no, not every Camaro has these options, and this is a great upgrade for those without.

Added links for Older 16-18 Camaro's for Wireless Car Play and Android Auto options on Amazon:

Wish this was available for my Camaro. Sadly wireless CarPlay isn’t possible.

If you're willing to plug a small unit into one of the USB ports, it's eminently possible: https://www.amazon.com/apple-carplay...arplay+adapter

No personal experience with CarPlay adapters, but I have wireless Android Auto via an AAWireless unit that works flawlessly.

+1 on the adapter. I used the CarLinkit 3.0 for wireless CarPlay on my 2016 and it worked great but the unit died after I tried to update it to the latest firmware unnecessarily so if you go that route just use it as is. Didn’t have any issues on older firmware

Unfortunately I can’t the usb port is semi dead. It charges and shows the “iPod mode” but does t do CarPlay anymore and I’m unsure why. I tried changing the port out but it didn’t help.

I've added the links to the main page, thanks for the suggestions for wireless options for the 2016-2018 models.

For anymore thinking about the white auto and media option, I would say do it if you can.
I did as part of some recent upgrades and I absolutely love it. Wireless Android Auto is just so much more convenient. In addition HD radio is a nice bonus.
However beware that installation, or more exactly removal of the original radio is a huge pain .

Haha, tell me about it. You have to do the same to install the footwell lighting kit and man, was that a PITA.

I have a 2020 2SS with Nav already, but I really want the wireless Car Play. The HD Radio would be a nice bonus too. I've tried the adapters, but they are unreliable, and if they don't work, then they don't work until the car has been off for a while.

I'm just not sure if the White Auto solution is worth $750, though. I did manage to get a salvaged radio from a 2023 2SS, but have no way to program the VIN, and now I'm hearing GM has some kind of database on their end that the radio gets registered to and that can't be changed once the radio is registered to it, so the salvage unit won't work either even if I could get the VIN programmed.

GM really made all of this a royal pain.

Guessing that’s why WAMS charges $750 for it

It does come with the map update, which I haven't gotten yet and costs $100, so I guess that does drop the price to $650 for the radio portion.
