2011 RS Door Leak
Howdy, had a leak coming in between the door and the body on both sides down by the speaker. Watched a YouTube video and ordered "water deflectors". Thought about swapping them out myself, looked easy enough, but decided to let my long-term body shop guys have a look at it. Mainly because one of the YouTube videos said they took it to their dealership and it came back with the same problem. Quality Body Works in Brownwood Texas took the time to analyze the situation and found a defect in the construction of the door. In the picture you'll see two small holes that allow the water to run straight down the brace. They have to be sealed up with silicone. The corner by the speaker had also lost it's tackiness. So when they installed the new one they added half a strip of FlexSeal tape across the bottom. The deflectors are cheap, but the shipping is ridiculous. So be sure and silicone these two holes if you suffer the same problem. It'll just add to the success of the job. Good Luck.
