ZL1 1LE Jack Points

Due to the size of the side skirts on our cars the pinch weld can’t be reached without crushing the skirt. So, I’be been to multiple local stores looking for a hockey puck or something that will fit inside the notch in the skirt and hard enough to jack from.

Any ideas from others who have had theirs on a lift?

Thanks in advance.

So, I have to buy an aftermarket part just to lift the car. That’s ****ing stupid, Chevrolet!

And I guarantee you it’s because the base model Camaro weld points are easy to get to so the engineers didn’t think about the large side skirt on the 1LE being an issue.

I have a set (4) pre-production ZL1 addons in black for sale. The pre-production lift points are not labeled with "liftpoint". They were used a few times and had antiseize applied to the screws, so no corrosion on the aluminum body. I would sell them for 55.00 shipped. Please pm me if interested.

My thoughts exactly lol

I used these initially https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

But ended up installing the product referenced by 17ZL1Camaro.

Agreed that it annoying that we need to buy an aftermarket part to lift with a floor jack but I believe this is a problem with all the 6th Gen Camaro models. I have a 2SS and it has the same clearance issue with the side skirts.

Nothing to do with the 1LE specifically as even the base ZL1 has the same side skirt.

I got a cheap set of pucks from Amazon that have a frame rail notch.

They work just fine and aren't anywhere near as costly as the ZL1Addon bits.

I bought the zl1 add on units last year; and only just now tried to use them.
the top side is uneven (up side).
the sheet metal at the pinch seam flange is even and they rock back and forth on the sheet metal.

Im afraid to use it now - I dont think they should be like this.

Slide them on the pinch weld as far as you can, they should be fine after you tighten them up.

I agree its a bummer that Chevy made it hard to lift these cars. But those ZL1 add on lifting plates are a work of art. One of the first things I got for my ZLE and have already used them and they work great!!
