Kudos to you and the driver on the run! As already posted, your driver makes it look easy: the Z is sticking to the ground like glue, and it doesn't appear as if he's pushing it near its limit.

Doubly so for not knowing that much about the car (but certainly knowing how to drive it)!

Hey when you do the seats and harness please post some pictures as I'm probably looking to do the same some time in 2018. Nice job on the course!

Any way you could post a whole session of your driving too? Would like to see more lines and how the car reacts at different turn in’s.

There are many lines, including those through gravel and grass surfaces. Hahaha

I’ll have to post a video of my off at T3. It was fun!

All joking aside, the car likes the same line that I race in my Spec car or any other car.

My theory on the ring time is that the aero has too much drag for that size of a track with so much room for high speeds.

I think the ZL1 1LE is a much better suited for shorter tracks such as Road Atlanta, Barber and the like.

I think the high speed is being more effected by the lame 5th and sixth gears.

Why is the Ring time not impressive, again? LOL

And the 6th gear was revised specifically for high speed vs standard ZL1. Mathematically, the car will go exactly 200 mph, keeping power at maximum as you travel through the 190s.

My point was that this was in a privately owned production car with no mods.

At the Texas Mile I was wanting to do a conventional type burnout prior to running the mile. I wasn't interested in going through the line lock procedure and simply wanted to apply the brakes and do a standard burnout. To accomplish that, I held down the traction control button for 7 seconds until I got both lights. I was also in Race mode.

As soon as the tires began to spin, the traction control would limit the spin by cutting throttle (or timing or whatever method used to limit acceleration). Tried quite a few times and COULD NOT burnout with both lights on.

Eventually, I tried the burnout with only the 1st light on and to my surprise the burnout went great.

Is my car not working correctly? I thought when both lights were burning there would be no nanny preventing the burnout. That's absolutely not true with my car.

Same as corvette. Single light equal’s burn out. This has been a issue for years in the C7. Too dang confusing.

Gotcha. Thanks for the compliment! And I agree, as I told my friend Rob that we set a blistering fast time with zero factory support like the GM and magazine guys have! It was just Rob and I!

AND, the Ring time was with a proper half cage, seat and harnesses. We were still running the stock seat and both of our knees are sore from trying to hold ourself in position while driving at warp speed! 1:29 is coming with only a proper race seat and harness!

I was under the impression this was the opposite. You're making me doubt myself though.

The high speed tests I recall seeing I thought were out before much was really known about the 1LE capabilities. In these tests the auto ZL1 went 200+ while the M6 was still a bit shy (190s).

My understanding was the drag created by the aero in the 1LE alone would prevent it from getting too far beyond 175, and the gearing difference didn't help.

P.S. The ring was incredible from my standpoint too.
