OP, furthest back button with the (P) icon on the center console.
There's more than one way to kick the back tires loose. You just need to find a way to break traction while turning, which is easier with a v8 power plant anyway. People with the I4 may need to get a little more inventive. High school lunch tray method?

all three of those are high HP cars.
And that's exactly why there won't be any problems if someone wants to setup a drift car, since you are going to ditch the factory parking brake anyway.

Only the fast and furious crowd thinks you need an e-brake to drift. Now if you want to do some Transporter like driving it helps.

Here are the things I am aware of from the C7

1) You have to depress the foot brake to release the e-brake (duh)

2) If you drive with the e-brake on it automatically disengages.

well kinda, yes they'll ditch the factory setup and replace it with a hyro unit. They'll never use a factory e-brake setup regardless of if its cable or electronic. But they all use a hand brake to initiate a slide so while you don't "need" it, they all do it.

Looks like you guys beat me to it, but..

In my Stingray, the electronic parking brake will release by itself if you forget to release it once you start moving. Just pull up on the switch to set, and have to hold the brake and push it down to release.

So, has anyone got into the habit of not taking it off and just letting it take itself off?

Not me. I have only forgotten once...the first time.

I kinda wish there were no buttons behind the shifter, so there was room for a small storage area. I would prefer these buttons be on the dash somewhere, or in a not so high value real estate spot. Picky maybe, but in my Yukon I get used to these convenient storage cubbyholes.

I don't think I've ever used a parking/emergency brake. That likely will not change with my next purchase, whether is be a Camaro, Corvette, Challenger, or something else.

That has to be the worst location to me, but ok I'll have to live with it. You can hide a button like that under the driver's dash.

The whole point of having it in a visible area is so you don't forget about and drive away with the e brake engaged. Every car with an electronic ebrake has it in the same area.

There's something to be said for having a mechanical parking brake when performance driving.

Take that a step further - a mechanical parking brake on the floor, so your hand is free to shift at the same time you brake.

The Warner Brothers stunt team used a cool trick for the Dukes of Hazzard. They removed the locking pin on the floor mounted parking brake in the Chargers. That way they could execute those right turns by locking up the rear wheels and turning hard while still on the gas, then lift their left foot off the e-brake without having to pull the release.

False.. Mine is on the lower part of the dash left of the steering wheel.

Also, it auto disengages in my car when I step on the gas.
