Buffing Cloth

Has anyone here ever tried using those buffing cloths that supposedly, magically remove light scratches? I have a few on the passenger, rear quarter of my white car. They're light enough that you have to be at a certain angle in certain kinds of lighting to even see them. But I know they are there and it bugs me.

Just curious if those things actually work or not. I'm assuming they have some sort of fine buffing compound in them?

I haven't used one but I can't believe it would do anything except maybe to the lightest micro-scratches. IMO the best bet is investing in a decent DA polisher, good pads, and some good products. I have a Porter Cable and a Chemical Guys DA and they're both good products. Spent a few hours using one to get rid of some hazing on my F-150 yesterday and then laying down some sealant (though I made a huge mistake doing it in 90+ heat in the garage.)

However since I haven't used these buffing cloths I would be interested in hearing from someone who has some experience with them.

I went ahead and tried it on those annoying micro-scratches in the cup between the door handle and the car and honestly, was simply amazed. On white cars, those scratches are very visible. After I got done with the buffing cloth, you would have never known they were there unless I told you. I wish I had taken a "before" pic to show everyone. I was impressed.

I also want to mention that the cloth was wetted with a super fine buffing compound. It was like wet sanding the clear in the final stage of finishing a paint job on a car.

I haven't used any, but I did do as above with my polisher and some Chemical guys wax/polish, then their V07 sealer and it did great job on the micro scratches.
