Stock vs 416

Looking into going centri. So since I want to forge the bottom, will I be better keeping stock bore and forging. Or stroking and forging...

It’s a coin toss. Both doable. Just gotta make sure you get your main studs, and make sure the piston skirt dont slip out. From the people I’ve talked to here and the different shops Ive sourced out, that’s what they mentioned.

If you search YouTube “416 supercharged” there’s a fair amount of cars doing what you’re doing. I saw all of them….lol

I went through the same dilemma. You’ll hear opinions on all side of this. I went with stock cubes for mine. Keep the block as strong as possible was my thinking. Pour a little more boost at it if I need too. Short block on order and work to start soon.

But lots of people making a 416 work too.

If you do the 416 make sure it's setup where the pistons are not rocking due to the skirts coming down out of the cylinder on the down stroke. Either setup is nice just make sure you do it the right way.

At some point yes you’re climbing up on power, but your torque is going down.

What are you looking for, a 8k+ shift point?

Honestly. I don't know. I'll set 7500 maybe... I also thought about a 388
