Stock or aftermarket intake mani.

Looking at stock/rod mod or aftermarket in general. Holley/MSD? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Stock. I can't think of any composite aftermarket LS3 intakes other than FAST. GM did very well in the LS3 intake's design.

Stock… Untouched…

I made 1400 RWHP through one, ~~1700 on spray through it…

My opinion, based on what I’ve seen at the shop where my car is built and maintained, Do not use FAST intakes with boost… ok, Moderate boost, up to say 8 lbs, maybe, but why spend a grand on an intake for no gains and possible headaches when the factory piece is amazing…

Is the factory piece perfect for boost, no… but it’s better than most anything you’ll buy and pretty much bullet proof…

I only got rid of mine when we built a custom one off sheet metal intake for very high boost and high RPM’s…

The rod mod is not designed for boost. It removes a lot of the integrity of the intake. When air is being drawn it vs pushed in, it's more of an issue. So stock gets my vote as well.

If you had to get an intake, the lo ram/hi ram or ideally the surge/btr equalizer 3 takes the cake for distribution/power

It's hard to beat the performance of the stock LS3 intake, very hard. For me it was good up to 17psi boost.

Like stated if you don’t boost rod mod is the best, if you gonna boost either stock or Holley high ram

I threw away my junk ass holley sniper low pro, FAST fell apart before I installed it. BTR Equalizer 3 is a quality piece of equipment.

I was gonna go with the BTR purely for looks, but the numbers just aren’t there. It is definitely a looker though.

If I do change, I’ll probably go with a Victor style with elbow... and a new hood for it to fit under.
