Your best option is to probably take it to the dealership.

If you are comfortable that it's running fine, and after 1 year it's not likely anything that is seriously wrong, I think your tuner should be able to set that code to not report or turn on the check engine light. Another option would be to follow the shop manual to actually trouble shoot the code.

It don’t come easy.

Is the CEL (check engine light) on? Seems to me there are certain codes that just can’t be erased. If the CEL isn’t on, your probably fine. Just a guess, mind you.

Has VVT been deleted from this car? Has an LS3 conversion been done?
The reason I ask is because I swapped an LS3 into my originally L99 based car. My car was professionally tuned and I still have this as a permanent code, since the ECM is still looking for the VVT solenoid/phaser. I have tried to disable the reporting myself via HP Tuners but it still generates this code, but it doesn't trigger a CEL anymore since that was disabled. But its no big deal and really doesn't affect anything. You can have your tuner disable the check engine light reporting for this code, so the only way you will know it exists is if you run a scan. The only time I would be worried about this code would be if I was still running VVT, which I am not. If VVT has been permanently disabled then this is the code you will get. Totally normal.

Hm i dont think so the timing cover looks like l99. Or can it be disabled with the l99 timing cover??
I checked now my Timing cover and i got the left one so the owner befor me dosnt swap it. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/ls1tech...e6f6c86c0c.jpg I also read that a bad tune can do this error. But the tuner who made my tune is not even there. Last edited by Korbi; 01-16-2021 at 04:20 PM. |
